Random bloggy type thoughts...

...so I've got some randomness floating around my head and figured I'd share it with you...my blog who shall inadvertently share it with the internet folks. :p

To start I got a Christmas card from England today...THANKS FLEUR! It was so cute and a very happy surprise in the freezing cold that is Manitoba right now.

Next random thought...my husband is doing a digital painting of me and it's kind of fun to watch...he really is quite good. (Apparently the technique he is using is a 'knock off of John Boyle'...this means not much to me but if ya'll know who that is...that's who he is emulating :)

Apparently Heath Ledger died today. For some reason this is affecting me in a weird way. I'm not really in tears nor am I waiting and ripping down my shrine to him...at the same time I'm quite shocked that he's dead. I mean he was 28, a VERY good actor and as far as I knew not really a tabloid darling...how does this happen? I'm sure we'll find all kinds of dirty laundry out as his death is analyzed from every angle possible...but right now I'm just missing all the movies he would have rocked that he won't be in...(I'm also looking at my copy of '10 Things I Hate About You and wondering what it will feel like to watch that again now) and am looking forward to 'The Dark Knight' with a twinge of sadness because I'm sure Ledger's performance of 'The Joker' will be fantastic. So RIP Heath Ledger...my heart goes out to his little daughter who will never know him. :(

Speaking of children my child is moving a lot now which just so cool and so weird. It's a strange feeling to know someone is alive inside of you moving of their own accord. It is just so amazing how creation works and when it's happen inside you it lends itself to it's own level of amazing! Today is another one of those days where it's almost like I can feel my skin stretching...lol I mean I know I'm getting bigger all the time but there are some days where it's like I can feel the moment as it happens...it's rather nuts.

Thanks again to everyone who was so encouraging in regards to my last ramblings...it's a weird process this whole pregnancy thing...I sometimes still can't believe it's happening to me. :) Now as per my newest obsession, I think I might watch Hairspray...LOL

The weave of a roller coaster...

...emotional that is...

I think I'm realizing my limits these days. It's basically becoming increasingly apparent to me that physically I am not able to do as much as I used to be able to do. I hate that...especially at work. I have this thing with putting in 110% when I work and I can't do that anymore...I don't like the word can't.

Like the last two days at work...high stress requiring more then just the norm from me and it just about did me in physically and emotionally. On Sunday a kid called in sick leaving me with a couple of trainees (who really stepped up to the plate mind you...they were great under the pressure) and me having to double bar. (Which means I have to make drinks for both cafe and DT) I can't double bar people...do you have any idea how uncomfortable it is to reach down into a fridge and repetitively remove four litre jugs of milk for an extended period of time when you have little to no abdominal muscle? Yeah it's a pain...literally...but who else can do it when the trainee's are still getting used to taking orders let alone making them all properly.

Then yesterday...milk order...that is a number of crates of milk (4 four litre jugs per crate) that have to be unloaded into the fridge...while simultaneously training in DT and making sure that the new girl returning is okay on cafe. Too much...I don't have the mental capacity to remember if I locked the door let alone trying to juggle that at the same time. It just completely wears me out emotionally...let alone physically. And of course comes the time where I have to YET AGAIN double bar...can't do it people can NOT...but who else can...for whatever reason I was the only one who could do it...but I can't...yet I had to...yup let me tell you it is certainly more than difficult to be an outgoing personable barista when you want to cry and simultaneously say all of the swear words you can think of... :p

This morning I had an appointment with my midwife who told me that my body will let me know when I need to take it easy and it feels like my body is saying VERY loudly that I need to take it easy...I just don't like having to give less...it's totally worth it because I'd sacrifice anything for this baby...it's just a learning curve I suppose. I tend to fight these curves a bit...please don't tell me it gets worse after the baby is born...or that I should 'wait till later'...I'll deal with that when it happens...right now I'm just trying to make it through this week without crying every day for no reason. :P

Which brings me to another rant. I don't know why I'm ranting...I have z pent up something so I'm venting...lol My new rant is for the 'advice' that comes in waves from various sources. Now I do want to hear about other people's pregnancy experiences and how they felt as first time moms or heck moms in general. Honestly I think it's fascinating and helps me to realize I'm certainly not the first person to do this...good to know. What I get frustrated with is the 'you wait...' statements. For example when I first realized that bending over to tie my shoes wasn't exactly an option I got 'You wait till later...you're just going to get bigger.' Gee you think? I'm kinda just experiencing how big I am now so how about you just let me make my comments without telling me about somewhere I'm not...lol

I know I know, calm down and be gracious Sheri it's not that big of a deal. But it FEELS like a big deal...it's annoying. I hate being annoyed...which annoys me...LMAO Oh dear I think I'm on hormonal overload...HELP!!! :p

So much in love with maternity pants!

Okay I've bought my first set of maternity clothes and amongst them is three pairs of pants that I am in LOVE with...on pair of jeans, a pair of khaki's for work and a nice pair of black pants that are SO comfortable! Seriously I don't want to see a belt for a LONG arse time!

So how have I been. Pregnancy wise I'm doing quite fine, especially with my new purchases. Over Christmas I think I gained a ton but I don't know if that's accurate I'll know more next week at my appointment. Right now this kid likes to swim laps or something...lol I haven't got to full kicks or anything, it's more along the lines of gurgling like my stomach is rumbling or something...it's very cool and bizarre at the same time.

I've graduated from sitting on our couch (which is actually my old twin bed) to sitting on a chair that my grandpa gave me in spring. It is just so very perfect for me right now and since I have my laptop back I don't have to deal with the very uncomfortable chair in front of our desktop computer. I'm finding that trying to get up from the 'couch' is certainly not easy for me any more so why fight it. I have this area all staked out, computer, table to put over my lap to eat...access to the TV if need be...I never have to leave here again. Except for the whole can't work from here...I don't know if that works. Latte's from an armchair? Yeah not gonna fly well...

I wish I had more to say but I've just sent out a bunch of long emails and seem to have run out of words so I'm gonna listen to the hairspray soundtrack because I'm obsessed...off to sing 'you can't stop the beat'...lol
